I’m a 25-year-old Naval Architect and Maritime Engineer from Galicia, Spain. I recently completed the MSc in Maritime Engineering Science (Yacht & High-Performance Craft) at the University of Southampton.
Over the last years I’ve combined my engineering studies with hands-on experience in professional sailing circuits and foiling classes, focusing on performance, reliability and optimisation. My mid-term goal is to contribute my technical skills and my understanding of sailing to a high-performance yacht design team.

Responsible for daily preparation and maintenance of the TP52 and chase boat during training and events. Worked closely with the coach and sailors on technical coordination, logistics and data management, including rigging, composites, sail care and diving support.
Southampton, UK · Feb 2025 – Mar 2025
Assisted in sail repair, maintenance and preparation for Doyle customers across the Southampton area. Gained practical knowledge of composite sail materials, construction techniques and customer service in a high-demand environment.
Palma, Newport, Puerto Portals, Valencia · 2024 Season
Supported the Race Committee operating MarkSetBot positioning systems, race logistics and on-water race management. Responsible for MarkSetBot systems on shore and for general operations during events.
Europe · 2023 – 2025
Short-term works with professional shore teams: boat preparation, logistics, packing, electro-hydraulics, composites, rigging and diving support for top-level campaigns such as Rolex Middle Sea Race and 44Cup Baiona.
O Milladoiro, Spain · Sept 2022 – Feb 2023
Six-month internship focused on yacht performance models and numerical simulations for high-speed sailing craft. Worked with CFD and parametric design tools as part of my BSc thesis.
Cádiz, Spain · 2022
Selected for the Inspire programme as a shore-crew member for Team France. Assisted with logistics, shore set-up and daily boat checks, gaining insight into SailGP event operations and high-performance foiling catamarans.
Luis started sailing at the age of five and has been part of the Spanish National Team in 420 class. Since then he has competed in multiple fleets, continuously pushing his foiling skills and race experience.
